TeamT5 found one content farm published a disinformation article accusing TeamT5 of conducting phishing attacks against the Japanese government and Japanese tech companies. The actor abused the mechanism of the content farm business for spreading baseless evidence to discredit TeamT5 and the Taiwanese government.
In this clarification, TeamT5 declares that the above-mentioned disinformation are by no means true. TeamT5 has never engaged in any cyber-attacks, and will not accept any commissions to conduct cyber-attacks.
This disinformation attack is in line with the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of state-sponsored information operation that has been observed closely by us. The article is highly possible to be written by non-native Japanese speakers due to the multiple grammar mistakes and many Chinese characters. TeamT5 has shared all the above information with the law enforcement in both Taiwan and Japan. The further detail of this attack is now under investigation.
Since the start of TeamT5, we have been helping our clients and partners to defend against all kinds of cyberattacks. We do not and will never use our resources and products to conduct any cyberattacks. If you require further information, please contact [email protected].
